It’s nice to do things for others at Christmas time so I thought it was a lovely idea when one of the members of the local Sugar Craft Guild suggested the we should each decorate some mini Christmas Cakes and donate them to the local Homeless Charity for their Christmas meal.
These are the 3 that I made.
Each of the poinsettia leaves are individually made and are lined in edible gold paint along the edges. Red is always an awkward colour to make in icing, but I am quite pleased with the vividness of these leaves.
I modelled this little angel character on a porcelain Christmas tree decoration and think I have captured quite an angelic little face.

Hi! I found your blog through Google, and I was wondering how you construct those cute mini cakes. I read somewhere else that you can bake cupcakes then carve them before adding ready-to-roll icing/fondant… is this your method too?
Also, the little angel’s face is perfect! 😀 Did you add the gold dust to the wings yourself? If so where did you buy it from? I’d love to recreate them myself! Thanks x
