This is the reverse of the blue pink flowered handbag cake that I created for a demonstration I was giving. As I explained before it is double sided in order for me to have more techniques to show to everyone.
As usual, when I am creating my designs, I like to try something a little different from the norm.
When decorating my cakes I like to use as little cutters as possible. Sometimes, when using the cutters, I try to make something out of them that they were not originally intended for.

This cake was designed for a lady who loves shoes and handbags (who doesn’t?) and had a surprise when she received her beautiful cake.
The handbag was sculpted out of chocolate sponge cake before being covered in vanilla buttercream and bright pink icing sugar.
The flowers on the front have had edible lace applied onto the petals with tiny piped dots around the edge to give definition.
I imprinted a pattern into a piece of icing sugar and added eible lace onto another and then this was draped around the base like fabric.
The whole appearance was finished off with a delicate handmade shoe and letters with birthday wishes.
