I was asked to create a Birthday cake for Harry who used to be a painter and decorator and is now retired. The cake is designed to reflect his past job and bring back wonderful memories.

The centre piece of the cake is the little paint decorator man in his white paint splattered overalls looking at the mess he has created.

The figure is surrounded by pots of paint and rolls of wallpaper which cover the cake in wonderful colours of pink, blue, purple, black and gold.

All this was finished off with painted gold decoration and ‘Happy Birthday Harry’ on the wallpaper.

This is the wedding cake that I created for my own wedding last summer. The design on the sides of each tier was taken from the pattern on the wedding stationery. It was painted on with edible food colouring and topped off with real flowers to match my bouquet.

This was the catalyst that inspired me to take up cake decorating as a profession.
