This fantastic cake was designed for an avid Welsh Rugby Fan for his 80th Birthday party. The cake was a conglomerate of the Welsh flag, a rugby ball and some bright yellow daffodils.

First of all I moulded the rugby ball in my hands to get the correct shape and then added the stitching and other details. Next came the tricky flag; the red dragon was cut out by hand and attached to the flag which in turn was attached to the cake and finished of with an edible black pen to create the outlines.

To finish off this design was the cheerful handmade daffodils. For that extra special touch I added some cupcakes with rugby ball and daffodil detail. Some royal icing piping and the wording and voila a finished work of art.

The lady I designed this cake for has taking up running marathons in the last couple of years so for her 50th birthday she wanted to celebrate it with a special cake.

The handmade running shoe (trainer) was created without any use of moulds – just sculptured from viewing a photo of her actual shoe. The shoe’s pink, grey and white colours are continued around the rest of the cake.

The ‘VW’ stands for Veteran Women running category.  Dainty flowers were arranged around the edge to frame the centre piece.

I’ve been experimenting with a new kind of edible lace and I had an idea that it would make a beautiful veil for a bride figure on a wedding cake. This cake was to show what might be possible with it.

I thought the bride and groom figures would look delightful sat on a kissing seat on top of the cake with bridesmaids sat around the cake dangling their tiny feet off the edge to add a little colour.

I loved dressing the bride with her full length dress and lace veil and the bridegroom is resplendant in his top hat and tails.

The brides veil was made in edible lace and cascades down the cake and behind the cute little bridesmaids.

Now the clocks have sprung forward an hour and we’re on the way to Easter I had an idea to create some seasonal little cup cakes. These delicate miniature daffodils are scattered everywhere in my garden and I thought they would be perfect for the top of the cup cakes.

Each flower is individually hand made and placed on top of a beautifully moist vanilla sponge cup cake.

These delightful cupcakes are ideal for an Easter Day party and are priced at £3.00 each, minimum quantity 12. Please  contact me if you would like to place an order.
